It depends on the Motability vehicle that you choose. Most cars will require all of your weekly Mobility Allowance (currently £71.00, or £79.25 if you receive the War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement), though there are normally around 30 vehicles that cost less than the full allowance, giving you some money back.
Remember, it's only the Mobility element of your allowance that is exchanged for a car, not your whole allowance.
There are usually around 100 vehicles available that require no upfront Advance Payment, but if you choose a more expensive model, it’s likely you will need to pay an Advance Payment at the beginning of the agreement. This can range from £49 up to many thousands of pounds.
