The Auto Trader New Car Awards are chosen following feedback from over 60,000 new car owners. Each of the category winners are awarded after the team at Autotrader have collated the results of individual driver reviews of 16 key aspects of their car, ranging from reliability and performance to overall running costs. Drivers are also asked to score their overall satisfaction with their new car, and how likely they would be to recommend their car to friends and family.
The Auto Trader New Car Awards are unique because they rely on the real-world opinions of people who have researched, ordered and then spent time driving their own car.
The Peugeot 3008 SUV – available to order today through the Motability Scheme from only £799 Advance Payment – beat a number of key rivals for the title, including the impressive Hyundai Ionic and the Skoda Octavia.
Auto Trader said that the 3008 rated highly in a range of areas, coming top for quality of its interior, plus it also ranked highly for its comfortable drive and for the quality of its features and accessories.
Peugeot UK managing director, David Peel, said: “Any award based on owner feedback is extremely important for us and it’s fantastic to see so many owners praise their 3008.”
Auto Trader’s road test editor, Ivan Aistrop, added: “It’s easy to see why Britain’s car owners have voted the Peugeot 3008 as their overall New Car of the Year. People love its style – both on the inside and the outside - and it’s seriously impressive for interior quality, safety and equipment. It’s also good to drive, roomy and practical.”
Some of the other winners at the Auto Trader New Car Awards included the Seat Ateca SUV (Best Car for Families), the Skoda Kodiaq SUV (Best Seven-Seater), the Toyota C-HR (Best Car for City Drivers) and the Mini Hatchback (Most Fun to Drive), all of which are available to order today through the Motability Scheme.
