Derby DrivAbility will be hosting a free mobility event for drivers with a disability, carers, healthcare professionals and driving instructors in Derby on Tuesday 14 June 2022.
The Open Day will showcase Derby DrivAbility’s assessment and support services alongside a great selection of specialist accessible vehicles and mobility products from local suppliers.
Visitors will gain valuable knowledge about driving with a disability, adapted cars, Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles (WAVs) and equipment for travelling safely as a passenger.
A range of special driving controls and other adaptations that can help people with mobility issues to drive or access a vehicle will be on display, including left-foot accelerators, steering aids, hand controls, ring accelerators, wheelchair hoists, rotating seats and specialist car seats for children.

Derby DrivAbility is a service within the University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust and is an accredited Driving Mobility centre. Its Occupational Therapists and Approved Driving Instructors provide professional assessments to people who need to gain or retain the ability to drive following a diagnosis involving impairment or disability.
