You probably already know that the Motability Scheme is a great way for people with a disability to get mobile. By exchanging a qualifying Mobility Allowance (currently worth £75.75 a week) you get to to lease a brand new car, Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV), powered wheelchair or scooter with insurance, servicing, repairs and breakdown cover all included.
Overseen by Motability Foundation, a registered UK charity, it’s a tried-and-tested scheme that’s provided more than 5.5 million life-changing vehicles to people with a disability since July 1978.
Since the introduction of the Motability Scheme online account in April 2021, accessing the benefits of Motability has become even more convenient. As Motability describes it, "with a Motability Scheme online account, you can sign in at any time to check important details, make changes to some of your key information and even track the progress of your order."
In practical terms, by being part of the Motability Scheme and using the online account members can benefit from unparalleled convenience and peace of mind. It allows for easy management of personal information, hassle-free access to Motability Scheme documentation, and seamless communication with the dealership.
Motability is committed to continuously enhancing the value of this service by introducing new features.
The day your new vehicle is handed over to you, whether it be a car or WAV, is always filled with anticipation and excitement. The journey begins by first choosing a vehicle, and then customising its specification and optional extras to ensure it's right for you, with the help of a trained Motability Specialist who'll help you every step of the way.
The dealership you order and collect your vehicle from will automatically be designated your 'managing dealer'. This dealership serves as the primary point of contact for all future vehicle-related matters, including servicing, warranty work, and MOT tests. Whether seeking further assistance from a trained Motability Scheme specialist or connecting with the appropriate aftersales team member, having an online account streamlines the process of reaching out to your dealership.
Access to an easy-to-organise online account makes everything simpler and more convenient.
The Motability Scheme online account system is open to all car and WAV customers.

Called ‘Go Charge’ for short, it’s a new electric car card and app Motability created with its partner, Paua. You can use them to charge your electric car on the go.
The app gives access to over 45,000 public chargers from 28 different operators – all in one place. That’s over half of all chargepoints in the UK, including 70% of all rapid chargepoints.
Once you have created your account, just open the app, find the charger you want to use and once there, simply tap your Go Charge card or use the app to pay.
It’s completely free to get the card and app, and there are no monthly subscription fees.
