The Motability Scheme helps people with a disability stay mobile by exchanging their Mobility Allowance for a brand new car or Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV). To qualify for a new smart through the Motability Scheme, you need to currently benefit from one of the following government funded Mobility Allowances:
The Higher Rate Mobility Component (HRMC) of the Disability Living Allowance (DLA) - £62.55 a week
The Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component (ERMC) of the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) - £62.55 a week
The Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP) - £62.55 a week
The War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS) - £69.85 a week

Standard metallic colours are normally included, so you can choose a smart Motability car with metallic paint at no extra cost. If you choose a special or limited edition paint this may cost extra.
Yes. If you currently have your own vehicle you could choose to trade it in at your local smart dealership. The money from the sale of the vehicle could go straight back into your pocket, or if you want to choose a more expensive smart, you could opt to put the money towards a higher Advance Payment.
